At SlidesCockpit (https://slidescockpit.com), we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our web application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect minimal personal information necessary to provide our services:

• Email address
• User ID and basic profile details from connected platforms, including Instagram account details and YouTube channel ID, title, handle and thumbnail when available

This information is used to associate the content you create with your account and to facilitate payments through Stripe.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To tie the content you create to your account
• To facilitate payments through Stripe
• To publish content to a connected platform when you choose to do so (with your explicit permission)
• To show performance metrics for connected Instagram content when you grant the Insights permission
• To display your connected YouTube channel, upload a video when you request it, and show video performance metrics when you grant the corresponding permissions

3. Connected Platform Integrations

When you connect an Instagram Professional account, we store its ID, username, account type, optional profile picture, granted permissions, token expiry, and an encrypted access token. We use the token to publish a Reel when you request it and to retrieve the Instagram media and Insights needed for the Analytics view. You can choose whether that view includes only SlidesCockpit posts or all account posts. We do not:

• Like, comment, or follow accounts on your behalf
• Edit or delete your existing posts
• Upload any content without your explicit permission

When you connect a YouTube channel, we store its channel ID, title, optional handle and thumbnail, the permissions you granted, and encrypted access and refresh tokens. We use the connection to identify and display your channel in Connected Accounts. When you choose to publish a slideshow as a YouTube Short, we send the rendered video and the title, description, visibility and content declarations you selected to YouTube. We retain the upload status and YouTube video ID in your publishing history. The Analytics view can show current video counters and YouTube Analytics reports. You can choose whether it includes only videos published through SlidesCockpit or all accessible channel uploads; for those videos we store their ID, title, thumbnail, publication time and retrieved statistics. Analytics data may be delayed by YouTube. You can disconnect the channel in Settings, which removes the locally stored tokens and requests token revocation from Google.

4. Authentication and API Usage

SlidesCockpit uses authentication systems and social media APIs (such as TikTok, Instagram and YouTube) to provide functionality. By using our service, you agree to their respective Terms of Service and Privacy Policies.

Instagram access tokens are encrypted at rest. SlidesCockpit may refresh a valid token to maintain the connection. You can disconnect at any time in Settings; this removes the stored token and stops future Instagram publishing, media sync and Insights requests for that connection.

Data Deletion and Revoking Access

You can revoke SlidesCockpit's access through TikTok or Meta settings. Disconnecting removes the Instagram access token but leaves your SlidesCockpit publishing history and saved analytics. To request deletion of Instagram-related data, follow the instructions on our data deletion page.

You can disconnect YouTube in Connected Accounts or revoke access in your Google Account permissions. Disconnect stops new YouTube access. To request deletion of YouTube channel details, cached video information, analytics and publishing records stored by SlidesCockpit, follow our data deletion instructions. Removing data from SlidesCockpit does not remove videos or data from YouTube.

SlidesCockpit uses information received from Google APIs only for the connected-channel, user-requested publishing and analytics features described here. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or give it to others for unrelated purposes. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We use service providers to operate SlidesCockpit, including authentication, hosting, connected platforms and Stripe for payments. If you consent to optional analytics, usage data is also processed by PostHog (EU Cloud). We do not sell your personal information.

6. Data Storage and Security

Account information is stored in our database and processed by the service providers needed to deliver the app. Optional analytics data is processed in PostHog’s EU Cloud environment.

7. Cookies and Analytics

Necessary cookies and browser storage support sign-in, security and application preferences. Product analytics is processed via PostHog (EU Cloud) to understand usage and continuously improve SlidesCockpit.

With your consent, PostHog receives page visits, feature actions, general browser/device information and a pseudonymous identifier. For signed-in users, this includes an account/user ID, plan, registration, subscription and slideshow usage events sent by our server. We use this information to understand usage and improve the product. We do not enable session recordings, automatic form-content collection or advertising tracking. Analytics relies on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).

The necessary sc_cookie_consent cookie stores your choice, the notice version and decision time for 180 days. A local storage entry with the same name synchronizes your choice between tabs. When analytics is enabled, PostHog uses browser storage (keys beginning with ph_) for its identifiers. Declining or withdrawing consent removes these identifiers from this browser and stops future analytics collection. We ask again when your choice expires or the consent notice changes.

Signed-in users’ choices, notice version and validity dates are also stored with their account to control server analytics. Unsent analytics events are discarded on withdrawal. Delivery records in our database are removed after 90 days; retention of data already received by PostHog is controlled separately. Withdrawal does not undo processing that took place before withdrawal. Contact us to exercise your data rights.
